| Taking the LONG Road to Eagle, Alaska – almost 1,200 miles total and of those miles over 300 were gravel! We went across the Denali Highway to Denali National Park, then to Fairbanks, North Pole, Delta, Tok, Chicken and finally north to Eagle. Eagle is Alaska’s first incorporated city in Interior Alaska and a place that time seems to have forgotten along the Yukon River just 5 miles from the Canadian border. I should really have called this the “Tisha” road trip as the book Tisha is what led us to Eagle and the historic Gold Rush in the 40 mile area is an incredible story in itself. |
